In 2006 a statue sculpted by Shan Gray was dedicated in James Garner's hometown of Norman, Oklahoma.
Jim is dressed as his character Bret Maverick and faces Main Street. The statue is near the Amtrak station, where the Heartland
Flyer connects Oklahoma City with Fort Worth.
My first visit to Oklahoma was to visit the statue. I photographed the statue over two days, January 13 and 15, 2025.
