- Ma's favorite band in the late 1970s. Zebra got their start playing the
New Orleans nightclubs, and that's where she started seeing them.
The name Zebra comes from a print of a 1920s Vogue magazine cover depicting
a woman riding a zebra. Ma saw a copy of the print at a store and convinced
the shopkeeper to sell it to her.
